What is a "NARLFEST?"
A gathering by, for and about amateur radio, electronics, computers and, of course, Amateur Radio, produced by NARL, the amateur radio club of Connecticut's Capital Region. Vendors of all sorts of radios, electronics, components, hardware, computers and peripherals, wire and antennas display new and used wares for sale; organizations have tables and displays to explain what they are all about; experts lecture and demonstrate a variety of related topics; a Special Event ham station will dispense QSL cards to contacts made over the air; new hams can take the FCC license exams; and ticket holders get a chance to win valuable prizes every half hour during the show.
Here's what the 2008 Hamfest included:

outdoor tailgate flea market
seminars about VHF/UHF propagation, Skywarn, D-Star and ARES
displays and information on ARRL, NARL, ARES, and other local ham radio groups; books for sale, seminar speaker/author signings
walk-in ARRL-sanctioned FCC license exam session, all license levels
